Sandy is a counsellor who enjoys working with people of all ages. She has a special interest in working with children and/or their parents. Sandy's counselling career has included counselling in high schools, primary schools, mental health contracts and private practice.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Counselling, Sandy spent several years seeking out ways to make sense of children, and the issues they present with, that might offer more hope. This led her to the Neufeld Institute and Dr Gordon Neufeld's attachment-developmental approach which offers her such a hopeful and respectful lens to view children through. It is through this lens that Sandy now predominantly works from. Sandy is a Neufeld Course Facilitator, Parent Consultant and a faculty member.
Often she will be contacted by parents who might be looking for an alternative approach to the current behavioural or medical approaches. Sandy has a belief that there is a way forward and hope to be found in even the most challenging of situations. Sandy's approach is one of understanding and respect as she seeks to make sense of what is happening for a child underneath the behaviour and symptoms.
