"We are so excited to welcome you back (or maybe welcome you for the very first time) to the Trauma-Aware Education Conference from Thursday 29 – Saturday 31 October 2026 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This will be our 5^th (biennial) conference. Our first was in 2017!

Each time we run this

event, we are just so amazed by the huge attendance and wonderful engagement of our valued presenters, delegates, sponsors, exhibitors, and other contributors.

2026 will be an event that will meet all your expectations.

We will have terrific and inspiring keynote speakers, informative and motivating breakout sessions that focus on the latest recommended and informed practice and the latest research, and wonderful opportunities for professional networking and just enjoying yourselves during our social events.

We try very hard to balance “work and play” at our conference as we strongly believe that a trauma-aware approach values and supports the social and emotional well-being of our wonderful educators and support practitioners, who are out there doing the hard work supporting our most vulnerable young (and not so young) people.

We are excited to share the theme of 2026:

“Inspiring minds, transforming lives and moving beyond awareness”.

Our focus is trauma-aware education from birth to adulthood – so a whole-of-life perspective that encompasses early childhood education and care, primary and secondary education, and higher education.

We are planning for our 2026 event to bring some surprises and a refreshed and inspiring focus as we strive to move beyond trauma-awareness to how a trauma-aware approach can lead to trauma-transformation.
